Learning About Simple Things

The simple life has a lot going for it. A clear space will help you have a clear mind. When your mind is clear, it becomes easier to take on other, more difficult things. So if you want to make things simpler, here are some tips:

  • reassess to see if you can do this process again

Do's and Dont's For a Simpler Way

Simple is good, sometimes we need and deserve to splurge on ourselves. Balance is everything. Don’t over work. Don’t over spend. Don’t over exercise. Don’t over eat. Don’t deny yourself, and don’t over indulge. A little bit of everything, and you will find yourself to be very happy and satisfied.

Try to live your life as an aware person who is not seeking to compensate for their own needs through external means. Living intrinsically, knowing yourself, and finding things to be grateful for will help you find simplicity in the things you do.

Simplicity starts within ourselves, it is after all, only ourselves that we can control. With this thought, let what you can’t change and can’t control go. Take a step back and do what you can do. The universe is big, and has worked for eons without intervention from us.

Learn to appreciate who you are and what your own gifts are. Respect yourself and don’t sacrifice your own truths to please others.

Be More Like Your Pets

Take time to treasure the simple things around you. Filling the voids in your life with material possessions will never give you what you truly need. Happiness comes from the simple things nature and yourself have to give the world.

Take care of unfinished business that is dangling before you and occupying your mind.

Try to release your worries to the universe. In taking action there is satisfaction. Always be moving forward. Seize the moment, look for opportunities. Make the most of everything that is before you. Always be moving forward.

Look ahead, but enjoy the present. Don’t let your past encumber you. We all have issues from our past that are difficult to let go, but if you can work on yourself, you will begin to give yourself the gift of simplicity.

Anticipate what is ahead and help yourself to prepare as best you can.

Take cues from your pets. They enjoy who they are. They enjoy the moment. They don’t hold grudges, and they aren’t afraid to ask for what they need most - love and companionship from you. Your pet is an expert in knowing how to enjoy the simple things!

Perspective Is Everything

Remember, perspective is everything. Here is a Jewish tale about being happy with what you have.

There once was a wife who wanted to live in a bigger house because she felt it was too small for their family. The husband felt miserable because of the fighting and cramped space, but he couldn’t afford a bigger house. The husband went to the Rabbi, who would offer wisdom to everyone in the town. The Rabbi told the man to buy a cow, a goat, and several chickens, and bring them into the house.

The man came running back to the Rabbi complaining about how bad things were now that the animals were running all over the house. The Rabbi told the man to take the chickens outside.

The man put the chickens outside. Then the cow and the goat had more room. The man came back the next day and said the goat was eating everything including the furniture. The Rabbi told the man to take the goat out of the house.

The man put the goat outside. The next day the man went back to the Rabbi and said the cow is taking over the house now. So the Rabbi told the man to take the cow out of the house. And the man listened and put the cow outside.

The next day the man went back to the Rabbi with a big smile. The man told the Rabbi how good life is now. The animals are out of the house, the house is quiet, and they have room to spare. The man was grateful and his family was joyful once again.

Sometimes we don't see how complicated things are when we have more. In simplicity there is good and it all depends on our perspective. Wishing you joy in the simplest things.
